The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulates about hazardous chemicals on the basis of occupational exposures. According to 40 CFR (c), the facility owner or operator shall develop a program of facility response drills/exercises, including evaluation procedures.

Effective hazard evaluation and control methods protect workers from and severity of exposure to hazardous chemicals or situations. In Appendix B to 29 CFR -- Physical. codified in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part (40 CFR ). Specifically, the facility is a ferrous and non -ferrous metal recycler as defined by Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Codeand the definition of industrial activity areas in 40CFR (b)(14)(vi) includes SIC Codes in the 50 series.
Of 75 organic compounds listed in Appendix D to 40 CFR24 compounds have not been previously shown amenable to existing EPA Methods for analysis in water and wastewater. The present work reports on 17 of those 24 compounds using Methods with appropriate modification. The chemical manufacturer, importer or employer evaluating chemicals shall treat the following sources as establishing that the chemicals listed in them are hazardous: (d)(3)(i) 29 CFR partsubpart Z, Toxic and Hazardous Substances, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA); or,(d)(3)(ii) (d)(3)(ii).
